FIRST DANCE SONG “Let There be Love” by Nat King Cole FAVORITE DETAIL A friend of the grooms asked the owners of the venue to leave the hay wagon and tractor in the field—the perfect backdrop and photo op. ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES The couple eloped two years earlier. “Committing to each other on our own felt sacred,” says Daniel, “while our schoolhouse wedding introduced our friends, celebrated our commitment, and truly joined our families.” IF THEY HAD IT TO DO OVER Don’t sweat the small stuff. THE DAY IN THREE WORDS Picturesque, classic, sunny HONEYMOON Palm Springs and Venice Beach

Though we kept the guest list relatively small, our friends and family traveled from all corners of the country. To have such a diverse group of loved ones focused on our own relationship was more powerful than we expected. —Andrew Geske
