NAMES Kathryn Park and Brandon Rigoni LIVE IN Raleigh Hills OCCUPATIONS She’s a visual merchandising manager and floral designer; he founded Financial Friend HOW THEY MET Attending Concordia University, Irvine THE PROPOSAL He got down on one knee during a hike at Multnomah Falls on a beautiful June day REHEARSAL DINNER Family and close friends enjoyed German beer and fondue at Gustav’s NUMBER OF GUESTS 150 COLORS Rose quartz, biscotti, and blush with pops of marsala and gold THEME Romantic garden retreat—the goal was a soft, romantic, and laid-back feel, with a touch of elegance. Oversize balloons gave chic playfulness to the lounge area. FLOWERS The florist used a lush mix of garden roses, spray roses, stock, hydrangea, dahlias, seeded eucalyptus, and bay leaf for bouquets, centerpieces, and numerous garlands. The bride herself made crowns for the ’maids and flower girl. DIY HIGHLIGHTS Among many DIY details, the couple and family assembled bud-vase escort cards (gold, white, and clear vases were found at thrift stores) and “kissing belle wands:” gold sticks with ribbons, bells, and a kissing poem tag which were passed out during the cocktail hour and rung throughout the night MENU Not fans of standing in long buffet lines, they opted for family style—standouts included bacon-wrapped teriyaki chicken apps and roasted salmon with shrimp bisque sauce and saffron rice SIGNATURE DRINKS Jack & Coke for him, lavender lemonade with vodka for her DESSERT A trio of cakes (two single tiers and a two-tier banana and pumpkin spice cutting cake with a brushed-gold finish), plus a dessert buffet with treats like lemon tartlets, apple pie bites, chocolate chip cookies, and French macarons ADVICE If you have a lot of DIY ideas, pass out small projects to loved ones early on to minimize stress and avoid the last-minute scramble THE DAY IN THREE WORDS Magical, romantic, amazing HONEYMOON Maui
