The magical setting of Tetherow delivers the perfect wedding weekend
If you are looking to extend your wedding day into an unforgettable weekend for you and your guests, Tetherow is your premier wedding destination location
Planning one of the most important days of your life while also integrating a memorable experience for your guests can seem like an overwhelming undertaking at first blush. Step one? Finding the perfect venue.
Enter Tetherow, the standout destination wedding location, with a staff of wedding and catering experts at the ready to make your wedding weekend worry-free, inspiring and momentous.
Located just seven minutes from downtown Bend, Tetherow embodies the laid-back vibe of Central Oregon while simultaneously offering indulgent luxury accommodations with breathtaking views.
“Young, hip, fit and active – Bend is the true ‘outdoor lifestyle’ destination,” says Kristi DiTullio, Director of Sales at Tetherow.
50% of weddings at Tetherow are comprised of out of town travelers, from San Francisco and Seattle to Ohio and Tennessee. “People with a connection to Bend – who have either vacationed in Bend, have parents who live in Bend, or who used to live in Bend themselves, gravitate here for their destination wedding,” says Shelly Mirabile, Tetherow’s Wedding and Event Sales Manager.
From arrival to departure, Tetherow’s staff offers multi-faceted and unexpected welcome receptions, activities from the extreme (white water rafting, skiing) to the relaxing (golf, yoga) and uncommon catering designed specifically for each wedding, capturing the unique ethos and vision of each bride and groom (or bride/bride, groom/groom – Tetherow caters many LGBTQ weddings).
Bridal weekend commences with a catered welcome reception around the pool cabana area, with an inviting fire pit and stunning views. Catering can be themed from casual to eccentric: a taco truck reception, a BBQ or a luau with a roasted pig. Portable bars ensure all guests are continuously served local wine and beer and/or customized craft signature cocktails.
“We love to keep things different and customize for every bride and groom, so there is a full weekend feeling, from a casual beginning to the more formal ceremony the next evening,” says Mirabile. Solomon’s, one of Tetherow’s three on site restaurants, takes reservations for much smaller gatherings.
Tetherow offers 50 hotel rooms, and exceptional bonus accommodations with 17, soon to be 40, vacation home rentals. Phase one boasts five-bedroom, five-bathroom (showers included in each bathroom) 2800+ square foot homes complete with fully stocked kitchens, a balcony with panoramic views, and a patio area with a BBQ, hot tub and fire pit. “It’s fun for the bride and groom to rent houses next to one another – the houses accommodate the full bridal party with lots of light for photos and great privacy,” explains Mirabile.
Bridal yoga kicks off the bride’s day: instructed yoga in Tetherow’s mind/body studio or on the ceremony lawn or pavilion with the wedding party. “It’s a great way for the bride or groom to unwind on their big day; yoga then a ginger shot in the café,” states Mirabile.
Guests can opt to spend the morning and early afternoon soaking up the benefits of a close proximity to downtown Bend, and Tetherow runs a complimentary shuttle to get people to and from. Boutique shopping is plentiful, and breweries are abundant: Bend boasts the most breweries per capita in the U.S., making for a rough count of one brewery for every 3,636 humans. Plenty of beer for pre-wedding cheer!
Indoor/outdoor retractable doors offer a range of options that aren’t weather dependent– no bride booking at Tetherow has to fret while perusing the weather channel days leading up to her wedding. Whatever the season: winter or spring, fall or summer, the pavilion provides brides bright and unmatchable views. Guests can see in to the reception area from the patio, resulting in the feeling of ‘one big celebration.’
Taste of Tetherow
Tetherow does group tastings twice a year for brides & grooms already booked for weddings. “It’s a special opportunity to meet the staff, see different set-ups, and, try new foods and beverages,” explains Mirabile, “our staff gets a chance to sample something unusual or trendy to serve guests, like roasted cauliflower with truffle oil or sweet potato mash instead of the standard garlic mashed potatoes; everyone has had garlic mashed potatoes and green salad – no need to do a tasting for that!” Rooms are discounted for the night, providing the bride & groom an opportunity to meet with vendors in Bend that will also be an integral part of the wedding day, like florists or bakeries. The next Taste of Tetherow is coming up on April 7th.
A special moment awaits each and every bride, groom and guest at Tetherow, from adventurers and extreme outdoor enthusiasts to those wanting an unparalleled wedding to include pets (a rising wedding trend) aerialists (yes, that’s been done at Tetherow) or anything the bride or groom can imagine to make their day celebratory, special and unforgettable.
